The Velvet Slipper
The Velvet Slipper AKA Prince Albert Slippers have been a staple in many bespoke loving men and women closet's for decades.
This classic shoe recently has had a resurgence with the go to brand of choice "Stubbs and Wooten" creating quirky novelty styles for preppy punks. If your over Stubbs, then upgrade to Alexander McQueen or Del Toro as alternative, both have a young fresh version on this classic style that many people won't be wearing.
Whether you personalize, monogram or stay simple.....it's a timeless shoe that's perfect for the Holiday season.

The Hermes Constance
We all know and love the Birkin and Kelly bag by Hermes but do you know the Constance?
I rediscovered the Constance while on travels in LA because of its simple classic shape that looks great dressed up or worn casually. The sweet shoulder bag has long been coveted by the chic set for many years as the go to hands free Hermes option.
Try one in a bright color or an exotic skin for the Fall Season.

Gucci at 90 years old
Gucci will be celebrating it's 90 birthday next week with a major fashion party in Milan and Frida Gianni showed a power packed Spring/Summer 12 collection yesterday in honor of the brands milestone anniversary.
The collection featuring bold jackets and high waist pants seemed to evoke a modern day Joan Collin's from Dynasty mixed with a 20's Flapper: Serious, Sexy, No Nonsense and Sophisticated. The color palette was grounded in black with lots of gold fringe and other opulent details.
I can imagine Joan Collin's wearing each outfit from the collection as she handles her duties of being the Fashion and Social police of Dallas....justice can only be served when one is fashionable.
I say pull this look up for Fall and celebrate the Holiday season in Style.

Pierre Hardy
After spending a joyous evening walking the city at Fashion's Night Out - I determined that it's time to go Fall Shoe Shopping.
First stop: Pierre Hardy located in New York City's West Village.
Keeping in step with his architectural kicks, the designer's shop is jewel-like in size--it is situated in a former carriage house--and the retail location showcases the Frenchman's meticulously crafted shoes, bags and accessories in an angular and intimate setting.
Make this your first and last stop when shoe shopping for wicked wedges and serious sneakers this Fall.

This collection will surely be a slam dunk success because it has something for everyone: home, luggage, clothing and even sport.
The most unique and special item is a retro style bicycle that will surely get ton's of press.
Shop early and buy deep as many items will be on a collectors list.

Perfectly Playful
Albert Elbaz of Lavin has done it again.
Not only is he an amazing fashion designer and illustrator but his unique sense of wit has been translated from the catwalk to the card table.
Yes, Lavin has playing cards people!
Lavin playing cards aren't like your mom's old school simple bid whist set, these are true pieces of art. Each card has a unique illustration celebrating Albez's amazing talent and artistry. The King card is especially precious as it rightfully has Elbez's illustrated face with his signature bow tie. The deck of cards also comes with special packaging, wrapped in a limited edition Ms. Lavin illustration for chic transportation.
Play with the cards, frame the cards or use the cards as a decorative element in your house. Either way its a fashionable spin on a very simple and basic item. LOVE!

Magical McQueen
The Metropolitan Museum in New York City has hosted the magical Alexander McQueen exhibit called "Savage Beauty" for the past several months.
The MET was able to magically convey McQueen's genius through the use of sound, video, lighting, styling and FASHION. You are transported into the wonderful world of McQueen and his genius perspective on social satire or cultural events. His punk sensibility juxtaposed with impeccable tailoring is powerful combination.
Savage Beauty is more than a clothing display, its a testimony to craftsmanship and homage to a legend who died too young.
If you haven't seen the exhibit - Go Now and If you have seen the exhibit - Go Again!
Long Live McQueen.

Little Kids - Big Business
I recently completed a two week business trip in China and noticed a huge trend - Fashionable Kids.
"Mini-Me's" is a term used to describe fashion kids who have top notch style inspired their fashionable parents. The high-end designer children's wear market is growing at a rapid pace with designers like Burberry, Versace, Marni and Lavin leading the race.
Have you ever noticed the J.Crew kids "Crew Cut" collection styling is a much more stronger than the adults?
Fashion has taken influences from many different sources, so it was only a matter of time that our obsession with youth would lead us to create the ultimate fashion icon using our children as the muse.
