Spotted!

We’ve spotted a new trend for fall. It’s polka dots!

This season’s current must-have exudes an undeniably youthful flair, yet remains an incredibly chic and timeless option for party girls of all ages. Polka dots in every color of the rainbow are fun and fashionable for stylish 20-somethings. Neutral or jewel tones can be perfect for any woman who wants to make a sophisticated statement. If head-to-toe prints are simply out of the question, add a playful punch with a chic bag or shoes.

Dots have reached an all time high with Vuitton's Yayoi Kasumi's dot inspired collection and her retrospective at the Whitney museum.

We hope that you're seeing spots this season as you look in the mirror whether its a head to toe look and an accent piece.

Le Sportif

I feel that it's only fitting to acknowledge the influence of Sport on Fashion as we head toward closing the Summer 2012 London Olympics.

Athletes have some of the best bodies in the world, making them a fashion designers dream to dress these heavenly creatures. Athletics has encouraged fashion designers to focus on functionality and performance, creating the forgiving lycra fabric and the famous body shaping garment SPANX.

Downtown fashion darlings have always been fixated on fusing sport and fashion because of its Urban effortless vibe.  Try a neon anorak over a white mini skirt w/ stiletto's.  Or revamp your sexy LBD with a sporty Isabel Murant High Top Sneaker for a more casual vibe.

Either way, show your sporty style this Summer Season.

BALMAINIA!

Many of you are currently shopping Summer Clearance racks scouring through this season's left over fashion staples. Stop Now and start saving for BALMAIN Resort 2013!

Balmain's Olivier Rousteing created an amazing collection that has an 80's Miami Vice feel mixed with a little Las Vegas swagger.  Don Johnson would feel right at home in the sherbet colored tonal high waisted pleated pant suits. The Balmain key silhouette was the elongated blazer that buttoned well south of the navel and feel to about the hips, worn with loose, pleated, and cuffed trousers.

Rousteing used soft colors like pale yellow, sea foam green and heirloom pink for a feminine touch.  He also showcased many Versace deco references, thoughtfully clashing black and white geometric prints. with stripes and florals.

Yellow Fever

Summer is officially here and yellow is the official color for the season.  Yellow signifies happiness and joy.

Citron yellow is just on the verge of being fluorescent, which is why we love it — this shade is b-o-l-d. Adding a citron yellow piece to your wardrobe is sure to brighten up your whole look and, as a bonus, will instantly make your skin look more tan — no fake-baking required!

Whether it's mustard, canary, it's mustard, pale banana, taxi cab, or gleaming gold, expect to see yellow tones on dresses, jewelry, hand bags and even jeans this season.

And when it comes to diamonds, canary is the way to go.

If you don’t think that yellow quite suits your complexion and coloring then you can opt to still stay on trend by incorporating this color into your accessories.  A great pair of yellow pumps or a bright yellow clutch is sure to keep you looking fashionable this season.  Yellow accessories look great with black and white and help to dress up an otherwise boring outfit.

This trend can be worn many different ways whether it be a full yellow dress or just some accents of yellow in accessories.

Nail It!

Cartier Nails It again w/ the relaunch of the "Juste Un Clous" collection designed by Aldo Cipullo.

Aldo's "Just Un Clous" collection  takes inspiration for the functional nail and nail head.  Yes, the tool used to hang pictures and secure many household items.

You may not know who Aldo is but I'm sure you are familiar with his work.  He created the coveted LOVE bracelet and ring worn by so many of us and his designs from the 70's are the most collected pieces in Cartier's archive.

Aldo's work is extremely modern with a little rock and roll while being very chic. The relaunch of his collection presents an opportunity for us all to own a piece of history and create your own personal jewelry archive.
