Packed to Perfection - Asprey!

Today marks the official start of my Caribbean Holiday.

While packing trunks, flip flops and tons of white clothing......I realized that this process would be so much more fun if I had an amazing suitcase.

Asprey (my favorite British Jeweler) recently launched a travel line in collaboration with the fabulous Globe Trotter. Together they created a simple, timeless and modern group of bags in the iconic Asprey Royal Purple.

My new favorite film "The Black Swan" staring Natalie Portman is cinematic stylistic masterpiece!

The make up...The Drama...The Costumes....Love, Love, Love.

My obsession with this film made me question: How can the film's stylistic sensibility go from the big screen to real life?

Answer: Ricardo Tisci fall collection for Givenchy which had a goth Black Swan like edge juxtaposed with the elegance of a dancing ballerina.

I am obsessed with 2 things in life: 1) Fashion and 2) Art.

Art Basel Miami Beach merges my 2 obsession's in a sexy location full of flare, kitsch and eccentricity.

Many people don't know that Art Basel Miami Beach is the sister event of Switzerland's Art Basel, the most prestigious art show worldwide for the past 41 years.

Art Basel Miami Beach showcases music, film, architecture and design from around the world.

The show is a must see during the Holiday season as trends either emerge or are solidified as unified creative movements dominate the show.

Fresh Crop!

Short Hair is making and comeback and causing movie starlets to chop off their golden locks for an edgier look.

Early Fall we saw The Pixie Crop Cut worn by Carey Mulligan, Mia Wasikowska, and Emma Watson. I adore the Mia Farrow-esque shorn and short tresses....making the focus all about the face.

Amish Chic!

The phrase "clothes make the man" may be the reason why the Amish dress simply. It is how they acquired the nickname "The Plain People."

Men wear black suits without lapels or buttons, shirts in white or blue mostly, black suspenders, black shoes or boots and broad-brimmed hats in black felt or natural straw. Women wear a frock type dress of mid-calf to ankle length with black stockings, an apron, black shoes or boots, black cape, and either a white "prayer cap" (if baptized) or a black hood.

Leave it to the fashion industry to celebrate a culture with a unique flare.

Early predictions say this trend is set to be huge next season with various big name designers and Vogue Italia's 09 front cover having a definite Amish theme. It's all high neck dresses, chunky black shoes and aprons as the Amish look gets ready to take next season by storm.

Vogue Italia dedicated a whole center spread to the Amish look and even used items made by a authentic Amish clothes maker (Plainly Dressed) for the shoot.

Kobe Bryant even appeared Amish styled in a recent fashion.
